I turned on the light and it came on. one color, orange. I tried using the remote to set the mode, color, etc. but it didn't work. I can't figure out how to open the battery compartment. There is a down arrow that says 'Release' but when I click it nothing happens so I can't tell if the battery isn't working or the battery wasn't included. The instructions don't help at all. It lists 32 modes and functions, but on the remote itself there's just a row of multicolored buttons. there are no corresponding numbers. Maybe I'm just technically incompetent (and admittedly technique isn't my forte) but this confuses me a lot. If anyone has any suggestions on remote work, I'd appreciate your input. In the meantime they are removed from the tree, repackaged and sent back.
