Okay, so the code for new homes in my area calls for these tiny things for the closets because obviously regular lightbulbs were fiery death traps just waiting in the wings. When 2 years later the first of a whole pack burned down in our new house, I took one to the home camp where no one saw it. In desperation, I ordered a 4-pack from Revain. The first one I put in my son's closet burned out the second time I turned on the light. What's so frustrating is that these things have two pins instead of a screw back, so I'm going to stick with them. The tiny cover for it makes it impossible to install a different sized bi-pin light bulb unless you simply remove the cover. I really don't want my kids to get mercury poisoning from a lightbulb that breaks without a cap, so I'm sticking with them. .
