The rug was packaged properly and arrived in good condition. I immediately noticed that it's heavier than other rugs I've seen so the cat can't clean it. The first cat litter mats came out a long time ago and I've tried a few, all junk except for the last two I bought (including this one). The mat I used is very similar to this one except it's too small and light so it moves with the cat's weight and the cat jumps over it too. This rug is thick, soft, heavy and stays in place. The cat doesn't jump over it. I think because it's soft he doesn't mind walking on it. I put the box in the spare pan. The sides of the tub remain in the flying sand as he digs up China. They also encourage him to use the mat. However, when I had an old rug, instead of stepping on the rug, it jumped right back and forth, making a huge mess. I use putty, which is not recommended, but it's ok. I only suck It absolutely works and I no longer have to wipe the cat litter off my feet after walking down the hall. FYI I still need to vacuum but now I only vacuum a small area around the toilet instead of the whole apartment. He's a big cat, so the sand builds up quickly. Not only was throwing litter unhygienic for me, but I think the cat has developed an allergy to cat litter dust, which is non-dust litter with large particles. He stopped sneezing and I stopped giving him anti-inflammatory medication from the vet. I chose this rug over other available rugs for a number of reasons. Firstly, I liked that when people wrote questions, the saleswoman answered the questions herself and did so openly. When asked if it came in a smaller size, she didn't answer all the policy questions. She simply said no and gave a good reason. I also wanted a quality rug that would serve its purpose. I've been burned by cheap junk before. Any amount you spend on a product that doesn't work is wasted money. You don't save money by cheapening and throwing away your inventory. So I'm glad I spent the extra $5 and got a mat that the cat approves of and keeps clean and sanitary. I'll also be saving a ton of money on vet bills so I really can't give anything less than all 5 stars. And the bonus is that the seller is a small businesswoman who really cares about cats and the humans under her control. I believe that choosing to support small businesses instead of corporate monsters improves the economy and society because small businesses are very accountable for their actions and decisions, unlike businesses that are above the law.
