Amazed at the quality at this price

While not a gamer I have several different over-ear and in-ear headphones and based on the great reviews I decided to try them for music and other listening purposes this category. Given these reviews, I shouldn't be surprised that they're competitive with what I have, priced 3-12 times higher on in-ear headphones (Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, Sony MDR7506 and Nuraphone), but they are definitely competitive with these premium headphones in many areas (and yes, I'm pleasantly surprised). The VoltEdge TX30 definitely outperforms the $20 Sony Dynamic headphones, which I've used as a fallback or for travel (i.e., in situations where the headphones can easily be lost). VoltEdge headphones are particularly good for bass (hip-hop) and vocals across a variety of genres. I suppose this makes sense for a product aimed at gamers who want to hear other players' voices through gunfire, explosions, etc. But it also creates a unique soundscape for music; On one song I could hear a light piano intro in the background that I hadn't even heard before. Another benefit is convenience. I have a bigger head than usual and when I opened them I thought they wouldn't fit, but that wasn't a problem at all. On the contrary, they are perhaps the most comfortable headphones I own. While all of my headphones tend to pinch my head or ears (or the insides of my ears in the case of the Nuraphone), after a while I barely feel these cans on my head. This is partly due to the unique design of the headband, which can be rotated to different positions on the top of the head. A great feature that I didn't expect but really appreciated. All in all, from the perspective of someone who uses headphones primarily for listening to music, they're definitely worth trying, as a secondary daily premium option, or even as a main set of headphones if you're on a budget. Not sure how this compares to similar offerings for gamers, but the overall quality shines through. I only wish I could return these Sony Dynamics now. Worth a good $30.
