Our 8 year old ALWAYS loses gloves. I seriously don't know where they are going?! When I ordered I didn't realize there were so many in the package. I ended up only opening half of the whole set to save some for next winter. You get at least 12 pairs of gloves, 24 in total if I remember correctly as I don't have them on hand right now. You get 6 different colors in each pack, the same 6 colors in each pack, so think double red, double blue etc. I can leave a few in every car and house our child goes into because there are so many! They're very well made, and since there are so many of them, they SHOULD keep us around for a while. crossed fingers.
