Review on HP 25 Inch Wide Screen Monitor - 2509M (Model: NT195AA#ABA) by Aaron Nagro

Bought from Revain, lowest price I could find and way below what HP would charge plus fast free shipping. No dead/stuck pixels. Absolutely no installation problems. Plugged in and played with my XP system using the existing Intel driver, no need to use the CD that came with it. Came with DivX and VGA cables; if you want hdmi, buy your own. I used VGA because it fits my existing KVM switch. Running at a native resolution of 1920x1080 on one computer and 800x600 on another had no problems. Issue with icons/font being too small for old eyes; Now everything looks perfect! Folks, discard any advice you read that says text doesn't look good on this monitor or that the screen is too big for a good monitor. Not true! Go ahead and spend your extra hundred dollars on 2709 if you can. It fits perfectly on my desk, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with a 27" monitor. HP knows our secret: We LOVE blue light. Their computers and keyboards are backlit in blue, as is this monitor, which illuminates a switch with a blue LED, which turns yellow when the monitor goes to sleep. You can turn it off if you want, but most of us want all the blue lights we can get! Reflective/Glossy yes, but very very sharp! There isn't one Light behind me so that's not a problem for me at all The only reason I'm not giving this monitor all 5 stars is the speakers are disappointing They can only handle very low volumes Of course you don't buy monitors for the Quality of their speakers, but I like to use them to balance out the sound coming from the rear speakers in my room, poor man's surround sound lol.Even for that they are hardly enough. Good thing my desk looks a lot cleaner now after putting away my old altec Lansings with the cable nest. I can tolerate compromises, but in an ideal world, HP would find a way to improve the speakers. Come on, it can't be everything I guess. I recommend this monitor, happy with my purchase, would buy again. POSTSCRIPT: 8/13/10 I've been using this monitor for about a month. I think I like it better every day! The clarity, sharpness and colors are amazing. It's good! I just hooked up a new computer with Win7 and I'm in love. Heck, even the speakers sound a little better ;o)
