Cheap boots that don't last long

We bought these boots for my son in the off season as he has outgrown his boots quickly. I went for something cheaper as we were back in February and I'm pretty sure it will be a size up next winter. But as expected, you get what you pay for. These boots look cute, the rubber soles feel durable and probably repel water, and the nice fluffy inner layer looks like it could be warm. That's the best I can say about her. My biggest problem with these boots is that they cannot be attached to your little one's feet. There are 2 methods of designing these boots - lace up and velcro - and neither of them really work. The top strap only tightens 1 inch. fabric between two eyelets. It does NOT cover the entire foot of the boot. The velcro is of very poor quality. So if snow gets on it, it won't stay closed. Additionally, you cannot pull the strap tight enough as there is not enough Velcro sewn into the strap to make it useful beyond where it is when you open the package. Once your child gets their foot in and you pull the strap to a real spot where they can do something useful, you are now behind the Velcro and the strap just hangs there. We had to put a rubber band around the strap, so that the strap does not come loose and dangle in the wind, but this is still not enough. We used them for 2 days in heavy snow and they knocked my son off his feet both days. Finally, the side zips seem cheap and I'm fairly certain they won't make it to the end of this season. I would definitely not recommend them and would spend more on better boots next time.
