Review on Trader Joes Anticavity Peppermint Toothpaste by Andrew Camlin

Didn't work for me; causes tooth decay

I really like the toothpaste idea that avoids a lot of the nasty, questionable materials found in brands like Crest, Colgate and even Tom's, but the results are in my toothpaste Case Trader Joe is lackluster to the point of being counterproductive. In every way, this toothpaste could have been a placebo for me as it had the effectiveness of plain water in maintaining oral hygiene. There are two things in my life worth mentioning. Review: First, I have natural pits on my molars that are always at risk of decay, but never for almost 4 decades; and second, I have an extremely consistent and regimented diet that rarely, if ever, deviates from the norm and can therefore be used as an ideal control to test the effectiveness of toothpaste as a variable. I have never had tooth decay or accelerated tooth decay with the Colgate and Crest standard pre-packaged toothpastes which have been in use for a number of decades. complete homeostasis. But then I started researching the materials they use, and in shock at all of this (and thinking what it might lead to in the future in terms of various ailments), I dove headlong into the much milder toothpaste by Trader Joe. Within three months of use and with no deviation from my heavily regimented diet, the pits in my molars began to noticeably widen and deepen upon simple visual inspection. This is just one example to show that Trader Joe's brand doesn't have the basic power to fight putrefactive bacteria. This is the only variable in this equation, and it has completely failed. After reading this review there are a few things to consider. First, not everyone has noticeable dimples in their molars. Second, not everyone has the same diet. Third, not everyone has the same environment in their mouth in terms of saliva or active bacteria. So, like all anecdotal reports and reviews, take this with a grain of salt. Still, it's worth thinking about and adding to your mental calculations when deciding whether or not to try this product. Remember: you CANNOT reverse tooth decay, it is a loss in the structure of your teeth that cannot and will not return. The only thing you can do is fight the progression of bacterial decay, but dental caries is like a ubiquitous invader that has invaded and never gone, just waiting for a chance to conquer more territory. That's why I threw away my Trader Joe's toothpaste and went back to the big brands, despite the potential health risks they almost certainly pose.
