DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THESE NEEDLES! I sew face masks from batik and 1 layer of insert. I used quilting needles and it worked great; But I've done enough to keep my stock low, so I've ordered new ones. While looking for quilting needles I came across these needles that claimed to be sharper so I bought 3 packs. I have less than 5 days, 1 pack of needles broke trying to sew the layers, which I sew with quilting needles with no problems. Fortunately, the supply of quilting needles has also been replenished. I assume they will work with light fabrics but they don't like tie dye.
