This printer is a replacement for a very large multifunction printer that had a printhead failure after 6 years of use. The Brother printer was very easy to install and use. The front panel is flexible so placement is not an issue. In addition, the relatively small size of the printer offers great flexibility. One issue is a little annoying for users who want to connect their printer to their desktop. The device does not come with a direct USB cable. Instead, we're asked to provide a cable and then connect it internally through the printer's top cover. Not hard, but definitely painful. Otherwise, the printer works great as a standalone Wi-Fi printer, scanner, and fax machine. Printing documents and graphics in Draft mode is acceptable, while rendering speed is much slower in High or High Quality mode. The remote scan feature, which we use a lot, works very well. After several months of heavy use, including making Christmas greeting cards, we are still using original color ink cartridges. The black cartridge went first and we decided to replace it with the XL version. Cost data is not yet available. All in all a pretty solid little printer for the home and possibly a small business.
