The tool has a high quality 3/8" chuck that holds a 3/8" bit with a 1/2" shank to accommodate remove a steel spark plug ring stuck in a truck engine head. The 90 degree drive provides clearance to drill a hole for the spark plugs in the engine compartment. This 90 degree drive increases the power of the drill motor and is a useful addition for any toolbox that needs a lightweight 90 degree drill bit. 5 stars for quality and utility WARNING - RIGHT HANDED DRILLING ONLY TOOL - Drilling with a left handed drill bit can dislodge the drive shaft and loosen the drive gears. Except for limited rotation direction NO PROBLEM, turn the shank in clockwise until the gears engage and the tool operates the chuck as intended I am very happy to have found this quality tool.
