Cheap almost working drone from China

Cheap. But hey, if you're on a budget, looking for a drone with a camera and don't mind the hassle, this could be for you. How does it look like? At first glance, the design is quite primitive and made of cheap plastic. The battery cover is chunky and the remote control looks like a throwback to Radio Shack. The drone looks like it was designed and built in China, oh wait! It works? Well yes I think. It just took a long time to decipher the poorly translated Chinese into English. I mean, the confusing starting instructions didn't help until I read them multiple times and understood what they were trying to say. What about a companion app? OH BOY where do I start. Syma offers many apps and there is no guarantee that you will get the right one for your drone. They ask you to scan a QR code to get a link to an app. All the links were broken when I clicked them, which is why Syma failed. The site is a Chinese site and the English translation is terrible. So finding the right app was a matter of trial and error. I ended up trying each of the apps. It took me 3 days to find the right app that worked on my X300. The right app from January 2021 is "Syma Fly". However, make sure it is NOT "SYMA-FPV", "SYMA GO+", "SYMA AIR", "SYMA FVP+", "DRONE FPV+", "My Syma", "SkyThunder RC FPV", ":Ultradrone Pro" , "Fly Drone T2M" or "Drone 3D". Did the camera work? You need the app mentioned above, but there are limitations. Setting up a connection to a drone through the app is quite confusing. I'm not sure all drones work this way but the lack of instructions is a HUGE problem I only found this out by reading reviews, transcribing a Chinese website on the web and trying things out myself I won't be writing instructions here, that's what syma should do for its customers, let me just say that it's very difficult to connect to the drone's wifi, I'm also having problems, you need to make sure your phone doesn't connect to another wifi , if your phone and drone use Wi-Fi - Lose connection. Also, I'm not entirely sure how far the camera ranges since everyone and their mother use 802.11b. Therefore, it is best to use the camera and drone control features in the countryside or in spacious parks. Does he fly well? Uh, not really, unless it's dead quiet outside (no wind). I don't know why but a little breeze will make this drone super cool. The higher you go, the less stable it becomes. I mean, these are wigs. Maybe the signal is lost? Maybe the sensors are mixed up? Just be very careful because if you get too high you'll get an escaping drone and you might never see it again. I chased him for a few blocks as he ran off and luckily found him in the middle of the street! Before that I had a cheaper drone and flew it for a few years with some issues but not too bad. Sometimes it seems that the further he goes, the more he develops his own mind and begins to fly erratically. I would say I didn't manage to get it past 30 feet. I'll keep trying if it's pilot error, but these are nothing but high-end drones that cost hundreds of dollars. I won't go into too much detail on the rest, but I like the folding arms. The phone holder was also reliable. I would say if you have the money to throw around and a lot of patience you can have fun flying this simple drone that actually flies, has a camera and can even perform stunts. Happy Buzz!
