I prefer to go without gloves but if I have a cut or wound I don't want it to be visible. I've tried both regular gardening gloves and dishwashing gloves, and while they work, they also make it difficult to grope and pull weeds or poke a tiny seedling in a hole. These thin gloves are almost as good as not wearing them. My hands can still feel the earth and plants. They're also strong enough that I can get through the day with just one pair most days. Gloves are inexpensive and very convenient to have on hand.
