I've had to replace both the top cap and ear pads on my old Bose headphones. Factory? completely decomposes, leaving nasty, slimy black soot everywhere. If your headphones are dirty (like mine) and you're replacing both the headband and ear pads, watch BOTH videos to learn how to remove the old parts. Step One: Install the small screws into the clips. (This will come in handy as you watch the video.) At this point, unscrew and remove the old headgear clips. (This step is not mentioned in the video.) Step Two: Remove the old headband and both ear pads. give her up I suggest blasting them out of space. They will continue to smear sticky black dirt on anything they approach. Step Three: Wash your hands with plenty of soap and water. Remove all black dirt. Then take a very damp paper towel with some liquid soap and wipe the earbuds with it. Remove any black dirt from the earbuds. Then take a damp paper towel and wipe the inside of the case. Those bumpy earbud supports will also get covered in black slime. Remove as much black dirt as possible. Wash your hands again. You have more slimy soot on your hands. Step 4: Go back to the video and continue the process. I suggest making the headband first and then the ear pads. I didn't do the second step and am COVERED in slimy black soot. Black soot removal was the most time-consuming and time-consuming part of the process. Everything else was easy and required a little patience and common sense. Be sure to watch the video and read the instructions (in very small print). The instructions include steps not covered in the videos. The videos clearly show some of the difficult moments. And they're not very difficult, but videos make them really easy.
