I bought this camera for my 5 year old because his last camera worked intermittently probably because it was old and dropped several times . This one has already been dropped, but it's supposed to be impact resistant, so I'm not too worried. It is also quite simple and it is easy for him to manage it by himself. All he has to do is turn it on, press and hold the trigger until it beeps. Another advantage is the waterproofness. He used it on an inflatable beach and had no problems with water. One thing I did was put my own screen protector on him because he's pretty rough on it. I cut it to fit the screen and just lay it on.
