GOOD: This food cured my cat of three diseases. It cured her feline hypertension (skin attacks), IBS and asthma. Just when I thought we needed to give her medication for persistent diarrhea from IBS, her vet suggested I try a raw food diet first. It not only cured irritable bowel syndrome but also feline hypertension, and the asthma medication was an unexpected side effect. I knew food affects high blood pressure but wow! THE BAD: My cat always seemed hungry for this food so I had to feed her more than recommended which resulted in weight gain. If I tried to cut her down, she would pretend to starve again. I don't think she was greedy because she was irritable. Also, Primal has a quality control issue that I just can't solve. I received four packets that my cat wouldn't eat. After sniffing it, I found that the food was incredibly rancid. I knew how it should smell after a two year purchase. Primal gave me meal replacement coupons but told me to use them at the general store. I ordered from a local feed store and the feed went rancid again. Again, my cat wouldn't touch it. The feed store owner would not take the risk of ordering again. So Primal sent me another batch of coupons to replace the packs again. I had to drive through two counties to find a pet food store willing to order for me. Neither of them wore it. The next few bags were ok, but by then it was two months before I got my food! Nobody has that much time and my cat got sick again without raw food. She will not eat the frozen version they sell at the pet food store. SOLUTION: I have since switched to Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried Raw Ticklin Tummy Ticklin Turkey. The bag is slightly larger, but also more expensive. I don't know how people with multiple cats handle the cost. In any case, such food is much easier to eat. They're nuggets that you just soak and don't have to use your fingers to rip them apart. My cat may eat less. She seems to feel happier and not starving. As with Primal, all of her health problems disappeared with this raw food diet.
