I have osteochondrosis in the lower back which has been getting worse lately. Our mattress is only about 9 years old and still in great condition, but it's killing my back and hips. A friend of mine had success simply adding a memory foam mattress topper to her existing mattress, so I thought it might be worth a try before investing thousands of dollars in a new mattress. Shut the front door! That changes life! I sleep terribly and usually sleep about 3-4 hours a night, even though I'm in bed for 8-9 hours. We bought the topper last week and I haven't slept this well in years. My back and hips don't hurt when I wake up. It didn't have the smell that others have mentioned and is perfect for our king mattress. Our mattress is very thick so it's a bit difficult to keep the sheets on it, but the mattress straps work pretty well. It's definitely worth the money!
