Review on πŸ’‘ Neewer i6T EX 600W 2.4G TTL Studio Strobe: Powerful HSS Flash Monolight for Nikon with Wireless Trigger, Lithium Battery & Bowens Mount by Nick Gathings

Nice concept but fails on some levels.

Overall good, upscale equipment, but not quite professional equipment. It could be with some simple design changes. For example, it is equipped with thin plastic knobs for adjusting angles on an aluminum mount. A more professional machine would have a lever with deeper grooves. Busy photographers need a pen, not a tiny pen. It doesn't support heavier items like a 36-inch parabolic reflector. It's guaranteed to turn around. If real money is involved this might not be the best choice as you will need AC power unless you have a second set of batteries which are not currently available but I'll soon understand. But then again, are you going to blow 400 flashes per session? The handle of the umbrella holder is ridiculously small. The bracket has been removed from the smallest handles. The mentioned piece of aluminum was removed on the first day. I went to a hardware store and asked them to cut a large thread and attach a sturdy handle to secure the umbrella. The paint on the reflector was incomplete at the edge, but that doesn't matter. I use a Sony A7R3 and definitely shoot with it. It does not work as advertised with the Sony A6000. It's almost a brand new professional device, but due to the cheap installation, it should be classified as a hobby. If you have professional gear like the Einstein 640, don't give up and look elsewhere. I've been working with it for about 2 months now and need to either modify it, recreate DYI from another brand or sell it.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
