Review on Crafted Elegance: Cocktail Mixing Glass Handblown to Perfection by David Pirlet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than expected. That's why.

Purchased this item based on the price and reviews against similar items. Now I can say it works just as well as any other mixing glass, so I think it was the right decision. The jar has a wide neck, straight walls and a heavy base for stability. There is a small indentation of the spout on the lip for accurate pouring. I unexpectedly started using it as a holder for my regular bar tools because of its convenience. It all fits in very nicely: a double jigger on the bottom, a pestle next to it, then a bar spoon, a Hawthorne strainer and a plastic olive toothpick. Glass in like a Boston shaker so I can get rid of my metal cocktail shaker. Nowadays, the hole of the mixing cup is the same size as the double old-fashioned one, so they don't connect. I know this jar isn't for that, but little did I know I'd end up using it for pretty much everything, so it makes sense to use it for everything else too. I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Iced Tea Cup
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging
