After months of comparing Sony, Nikon and Canon DSLRs I settled on the Sony a65. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I just bought the body through Revain and Adorama and a Sony 18-250mm zoom lens through Camara, also bought Todd Hanson's Sony A65 Quickpro Camera Guides CD at the suggestion of a reviewer here at Revain. What a combination that turned out to be! With the standard camera and lens, I was able to start shooting right away. The Sony manual and the camera manual on CD together helped me understand and implement many of the camera's features, including the HD video mode. I'm still in my first month of training and still have a long way to go before I'm truly comfortable with the a65 and lens, but I'm enjoying the process and am still impressed by the craftsmanship and functionality of the combination. only the limitations of this camera/lens combination are mine. I can only imagine what photo/video horizons I will reach as my skills improve and match Sony's!
