I bought this to be able to make kickstarter videos and other video projects. At first I tried to record a video just by reading from the sheet I put under the camera but you could see my eyes moving back and forth and it was very amateurish. I found this online for next day delivery (as I live in New York) and put it together. There were many adapter rings and I was able to mount the teleprompter on my GH5 camera very easily. I downloaded the Moman teleprompter app, pasted the text and was able to create a test video while reading my script. As for the teleprompter, it worked great. The software was very limited. You could only paste, you couldn't upload from Dropbox, etc. The speed/time was a little tricky to set up. There is a manual Bluetooth controller that I could use to manually control the scrolling speed, but in most cases someone else would have handled that part. Since I was just a person filming, I found a PromptSmart app that could be imported from the web and had voice monitoring. So when I spoke, it followed along with the script. very nice software and definitely worth adding to the teleprompter package. Ready to use right out of the box, the free moman app allows you to record professional-looking monologues when your eyes aren't darting. There are adapters that allow you to record with your cellphone, using another cellphone to display text and mount it on the included flash drive so you can walk around and read the script. I could do the same thing with my DSLR, it would just be heavier. Lots of options and flexibility with Teleprompter to create professional looking videos!
