I love that this set has several recipes to try. This will show you the basics of using the right amount of alcohol and simple syrup to get a good consistency. I tried a vodka cocktail and really enjoyed it, although my wife wasn't a fan of it. We're going to play around with the recipes a bit to try and find something we both like. I tried using it to make iced coffee and it didn't work for me, it just came out like a solid block of ice. I think the cups really need some alcohol to keep things from getting harsh. It's probably possible to freeze it for less time, but I usually do it the night before so everything freezes by morning. Some settling occurs and therefore the top may be frozen more solidly than the bottom. So make sure you mix well when breaking things up. In fact, I would recommend that you transfer the finished product to an insulating mug if you have one, otherwise be prepared to sweat profusely. Overall, this product is really fun to play with and I look forward to trying new drink combinations. The build quality is good, I wish they could be washed in the dishwasher but for me it's not critical.
