Review on MEE Audio X7 Stereo Bluetooth Wireless Sports In-Ear Headphones Red (EP-X7-RDBK-MEE) by Jennifer Dunn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

There is a trick to getting them to stay in it. The remote is terrible but otherwise great

I was looking for some gym stuff and, hardest to find, sleeping stuff. I sleep on my side so I need something flat that doesn't stick out of my ear. I first tried the Shure se-215 Bluetooth, which I was quick to return due to poor Bluetooth implementation (disappearing and, I still can't believe this is happening in 2018, music is getting faster!?!?). Then I tried these and they're mostly successful: they sound good, the Bluetooth implementation seems to be a lot better than Shure's with no jumps or acceleration, and with a trick they stay in and seal pretty well. The trick to sealing them is to tighten the drawstring at the back. I was about to return them before watching the X7 Plus assembly video which said tightening the cord is key and it is. Now they hold up much better and the bass is great. It would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the TERRIBLE remote control. If you read reviews about X7 plus, you will see that this is a problem for many people. First, the buttons require a lot of pressure. This is made worse by the fact that, unlike other headphones, double-clicking the center button CALLS rather than skipping to the next track. After desperately trying to hang up a call I made, I found that I had to hold down the volume up or down buttons to skip to the next or previous track. It seems like waiting forever for the track to skip while I'm grabbing the remote insane is really annoying. And it's still rare that I can skip without changing the volume. I'm surprised Mi didn't figure this out from all the X7 reviews. I hope one day they get it right because with a good remote these would be great headphones.
