Fell 100 feet down a metal ladder - contents as worn as worn

This item deserves 5++ stars. Pelican makes phenomenal cases that are second to none. Materials and workmanship are second to none. Bought a suitcase 1510 in '11. Since then he has endured a lot of abuse. I use it on all long-distance trips as well as on my daily commute to work by bus/train. Aside from external scratches and bruises, it's still as durable and functional as the day I bought it. The seals keep the contents dry even in the heaviest rain. Locks, handles, wheels all original and fully working [Wheel bearings need to be lubricated/greased and replaced regularly depending on use and wear]. I once tripped at the top of a subway escalator and lost my briefcase. He fell 100 feet down a metal ladder – contents intact. I changed/moved the wheel axle holes in the plastic case to increase the distance between the floor and the bottom edge of the case by 1/3" (see photo). It also slightly increased the life of my wheels. The company was excellent. They sent me new wheels and components free of charge due to wear and tear. The low ground clearance is due to the company trying to maximize usable volume by strictly following airline carry-on recommendations.Handles are on top and on the side useful - mine gets more use from the top handle. The pull handle is extremely strong and much more durable than standard collapsible aluminum tubes. It's a solid thick/wide piece of plastic that uses gravity to fully retract - it has never let me down The only extra I would like in the case are the loops for the shoulder strap clips - heavy rain n, sleet, snow and debris make it difficult to tow due to the small wheels and low ground clearance of Pelican s rugged construction and material, you can expect it to be heavier than comparable soft carry-on bags, but that's the price for extra protection. It fits under most medium to large airline seats and in overhead bins - only tiny puddle jumpers cause problems. Despite the small wheels and low ground clearance, this is a great product that we highly recommend. I would not hesitate to purchase more of their products.
