So my problem was too much heat. I found that setting too lean from the factory overheated the catalytic converter, making my foot very uncomfortable, and excess heat from the engine when stopped and driven. This distributes the fuel mixture closer to optimum, as well as more even throttle response, the engine is cooler, smoother and hopefully better mpg. The time will show. I followed the simple instructions, used my iPhone and am happy with the results so far. I used the default settings, there are other options.
