I'm 68 years old and I play softball. I have worn mouthguards for many years and decided to try them because they come in a pack of 4 at a very reasonable price. I was a little surprised when the directions said I had to use a thermometer to test the water to make sure it wasn't too hot as that could cause the toothbrush to melt and stick together. 1st attempt - I had to re-insert the protection 4 times before I could get a good print. I cut the length the same on both sides and it fit very well and stayed secure during use. 2nd attempt - Creates a 2nd guard after I lose the 1st. Not so lucky this time. Thinking I was the perfect temperature, I popped it in my mouth and bit crookedly. The guard stuck together forever and was thrown. Will be working on 3rd effort this week. These shrouds are thinner than any of my previous ones so I think the water temp should be cooler during prep. Thicker shields are more fault resistant but are much more expensive.
