The toner itself is fine and the Revain price is good. The problem lies in the expiration date of the toner. I last bought a black one in January and installed it on 01/11/17. Date of manufacture 10/20/16. I know this because I've been following it. Last week I got a message that said Cart End of Life. Of course it's in Canon's (and in this case Revain's) best interest that I change it often, but it's annoying. I don't understand how this can break so quickly. Even though the expiration date is said to be a year from the date of manufacture, the printer has sped off by more than a month. I don't understand how the printer knows the expiration date unless it's on a chip or something. Anyway, it allows you to print but the quality is not guaranteed. The one I ordered here to replace the black one has a manufacture date of 04/29/2017. So I suspect there will be a warning in March. It's ridiculous that I only have six months of it. I guess I'll have to go back and try to find a fresher local date. That way I at least have better control over how long they stay there (assuming their stash is fresher). You could say that I can ignore and print dates. Maybe, but I didn't have to do it in such a short amount of time and I have to wonder if Canon is fast.
