They have more lateral stability than high-top Lonepeaks shoes. The toe cap actually has 3 stitches to keep it from coming loose. However, after only 2 long hikes, the thread is looking a little worn; Let's see how it works after 100 km. Fits well; I always take Altras 1/2 size larger than my street shoes. They are spacious but not too big.
