I wish I knew.
These shoes fit well and have good support. What I didn't understand is that the fabric is like Naugaide and not soft and pliable. Consequently, as with cloth shoes, putting them on and taking them off is more difficult. I've had several different pairs of Vibram shoes and wish I'd spent another $20 to get another pair made out of fabric. I will never buy this particular shoe again, although I will buy other Vibram shoes.
