Review on πŸƒ Stay Light and Hydrated with FuelBelt Helium Ergo Running Belt - Two-Bottle Design by Yuan Walsh

Absorbs a lot of water but sacrifices comfort and fit.

There is a good balance between running long distances and staying hydrated and not wearing anything that gets in the way and is uncomfortable. I ran with a hand held bottle that held 8 ounces of water and a running belt that was very thin and big enough to fit my iPhone 7 Plus and nothing else. It's worked quite well for me this year, but sometimes I wish I had more water with me, so I decided to give it a try. it is quick and easy to remove. Not this belt. This requires the user to thread one of the long straps through the loop and push against the Velcro to stay secure. So to take it off I have to undo the velcro and then thread the strap back through the loop. Don't get me wrong, it's not difficult, but definitely not as easy as my current belt. The straps are long enough to fit a variety of sizes. Another comparison to my current running belt is that it uses elastic on the waist straps so I can really pull it tight and then wrap the belts around my body with added stretch. This provides a very secure strap that barely moves when running, even with a large phone. On the other hand, the FuelBelt doesn't use stretch material, and I found that when I made the straps tight enough that they didn't ride up my torso (especially on descents), they were too tight and uncomfortable. I had to constantly adjust the belt tension to keep it in place. Given the girth of this belt I figured there would be a slightly larger pocket on the front. The case is big enough for my iPhone 7 Plus and that's it. And luckily I run with Bluetooth headphones because if I had to plug my headphones into my phone I wouldn't be able to get my phone out of my pocket. A good design is the detachable case. So if you don't need it, you can just take it off. Water bottles are tricky and it took me a few tries to figure out how to get the water out of them without the water running all over my face. Noticing this, I had to stop to drink every time to keep the water from spilling over my face, and also to grab and take out bottles. They claim it's easy access to keep you drinking non-stop but I have to disagree. There's nothing wrong with stopping for a drink for 15 seconds, I just don't think they can back that claim. The bottles have a nice wide top when I unscrew the nipple which makes them easy to clean and dry. All in all it's a bit too bulky for me. Extra water is good, but it comes at the expense of comfort and functionality. I run pretty fast (1:29:25 is my fastest half marathon) and maybe my running style doesn't favor this design and I need a tighter fit than my current harness so this harness will fit other people better than me.
