My "old" eyes need a little more light in some situations. Now I can read everywhere whether the lighting is good or not. I don't have an overhead light in my living room so I can use that for reading. I liked to take it with me on vacation so that if they wanted to watch TV and turn off the light, I could stay in the room with them and read easily. It allows me to read on the patio at night and I love it. It is also convenient for needlework and darning. I am very happy with it. It's easy to charge. I used it for a couple of weeks before the lights went out and I knew it was time to charge it up. But to be honest it came on when I was in my suitcase and I don't know how long the light was on!
