Review on πŸ’‘ Durable and Stylish DOT Approved LED Headlights and Fog Lights for Jeep Wrangler 97-2017 JK TJ LJ by Kyle Fritz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Camp Lights night and day update BUT BE WARNED!

NOTE: Be sure to check the fog lights before beginning this project. Flip them over if the feather is on the left side of the body don't worry and put it back. There is no room in the 2012 Jeep JK for this type of correction and drilling holes that you will bang against the metal of the bumper. A NOTICE. You need to remove the Jeep JK grille, please see the YouTube video for how to do it. If you haven't already, order additional plastic tabs before doing this job. You risk breaking them by removing the grid. HEAD LED lights: easy installation, all aligned with the notches described on the various YouTube channels. Only on the passenger side did I have trouble aligning the notches on the LED housing, but I believe this could be due to a deformed light ring. As always, you need to adjust the LED bulbs after installation (see YouTube). Fog Lights: Don't worry if the screws are NOT on the right side. I used the "remove change rod" method to pull out and install the fog lights. The driver's side fog lights are a little harder to reach and the screws are all a small depth/length. The lamps look great when installed but are cheap on the back. The screw threads are flimsy, the spring is weak, and the hinges play so hard that one is worse than the other. Since the screw was mounted on the wrong side, I had to grind it down and wait for a foggy day to later screw it in the opposite direction. I also had to remove the old OEM spring and replace it with the one that came with it. Trust me, you don't want dancing lights every time you hit a rock because those kids lost AF! After I completed the replacement, the headlights came on and the 'damage' to the moving fog lights became a little protracted. A foam ring may need to be added if I do bumper upgrades later. Lighting: wow! They are quite light compared to the old bearings which looked yellow and weathered from daily driving. I don't click as far as I can tell, and the inside of the box has everything that easily snaps into place for both sets of lights. My recommendation, also for the price, is to buy both sets separately. See uploaded images for what I mean including uploaded videos. I'm happy with them for the price, but with fog it's kind of a nuisance and an odd surprise. Let's see how long they hold out at the start of the 2019 rainy season followed by the Texas Summer Sun. (Video uploaded before I replaced the heavy spring). I'll post a follow up later to show how much better the spring mitigated the rebound of the LED lenses.
