Good equipment, great support!

We are a sheep farmer and our lambs arrive mid January. This is how the 24-hour day begins and every four hours the sheep have to be checked to make sure there are no problems. That brings us to the technical aspects of Firstrend's useful 1080P wireless video surveillance system. The cameras are well made and angle-adjustable. Lots of stair work to get up. The NVR box itself is well built and has the necessary connections. If you don't have a separate 1080P monitor, you need one. Initially I couldn't get the cameras to work when configuring the device from our router. Daisy and Melanie from Firstrend were quick to respond to emails and even sent me an updated user guide. Once I got two APs talking via the farm to barn repeater feature, I installed the NVR in the barn, booted it up and WOW! The picture appears as if by magic, with all channels working on three of the four cameras. The fourth camera was tested with another camera's power supply, after which it was determined that we had a bad power supply. Again Melanie emailed and said a replacement power supply should be sent! The Danale Android app is an interesting app that works once you get the hang of it! I just wish they would make an app not only for phones but also for PC or Mac without having to install Bluestacks to run the app on PC or Mac. I still have to deal with this due to CPU virtualization requirements on a PC, but that's a side note. I lowered my rating due to issues with the manual and software which, like many other things, are under constant review. All in all, this system is great, but you will definitely need some moderate networking knowledge when installing it in a multipoint AP system with advanced wireless CPEs. The best option is to start this system with a good connection first and then connect the NVR camera to the network. Jan Update 2020! Added another camera. This time it was for site #6. Make sure you ordered the correct camera model (same as camera #5 which was added last year) and it arrived quickly. Couldn't find my instructions so I stumbled a bit before realizing I need to connect power to the camera using a CAT5 cable and then match the code in the NVR software. I spent more time installing the camera than setting it up! Once the configuration is complete, move the camera to the right place and it will appear in no time! Great email response from Neil, even though I solved the problem he sent me a PDF with instructions so now get ready for the next camera when it comes out! Great product and support two years later!
