I can put ice cubes in it. Keeps you cold. Did I mention I can get ice cubes that fit in? One star deducted on 5/2/16. Today's wash broke the metal disc covering the silicone seal at the bottom of the thermos, revealing the silicone stopper that maintains the vacuum. I dried the bottom of the thermos and the metal disc thoroughly and reattached them with shoe-goo. Let's see if it lasts!? I can see that without this metal washer the plug could be easily knocked out and the vacuum broken rendering this item useless as a thermos. 06/07/2016 Second ordered in grey. the same thing. For the first time in a dishwasher, the metal disc at the bottom of the reservoir came loose, exposing the silicone seal for the vacuum port. It's white silicone this time instead of clear, and it felt a little more durable than the stainless steel block I first received. Nevertheless, this dowel/adhesive did not hold the protective screen any better. A big pea sized blob of shoe slime and pressed the disc back open so the glue got to the edges and haven't had any washing or holding issues since. Considering the price, they're still good value if you already have a tube of Shoe-Goo or similar glue to fix devices when they start to fail (they won't lose vacuum unless the glue plug itself is damaged). . If you don't have glue in your drawer, instead of buying one, just spend a few bucks more on one of the higher-rated similar devices that don't have this seemingly permanent problem. They obviously changed the glue but it still doesn't do the job so deducted another star! 6/27/16 The gray plastic paint on the outside of the bottle is starting to peel off. I sent a message through the Revain portal and Glacier Point was quick to respond and gave me a full refund for the bottle. They also asked me to try again because of a production change. 6/7/2016 I am pleased to report that both issues have been resolved. The bottle is now powder coated and there is no metal disc at the bottom covering the entire bottle. Whatever was used to seal everything stays put and is now fully powder coated. Glacier Point finally solved all the manufacturing issues with these bottles and now they do everything you could ask for. The disc no longer falls, closes the hole at the bottom so the integrity of the vacuum is not compromised, and switches from a painted finish to a powder coat finish. Top it off with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, they deserve a 5 star rating.
