While looking for an alternative to the disposable makeup remover wipes I spend money on every month, I came across the Original Make-up Remover (MUE) and got it seriously annoyed by the fact that it was basically a washcloth that cost $20 (plus shipping!). I came to Revain and found this awesome replica that does exactly the same thing as the original MUE but costs no more than $20 and I'm so happy! The washcloth itself is soft and actually has two different sides with different textures, so one can be used to remove makeup and the other to exfoliate the skin. While the two sides are definitely different, I've found that the "exfoliating" side doesn't really do anything other than give your skin a final rinse before hanging the fabric to dry. I took off a star because as someone who is in the habit of putting on quite a bit of makeup every day (or every other day), I found that the fabric gets completely dirty and needs to be washed quite often, maybe at the end from every day. about a week. So it doesn't outweigh the benefits of disposable makeup wipes since you start with a new wipe every day. Nevertheless, I find that the fabric is worth washing because a) it can be washed/dried and b) it saves waste and money. Then use the cleansing side to remove all makeup (including mascara removal) and then use the "exfoliating" side to wipe away any remaining traces of makeup. I then wash my skin with my regular cleanser and reusable cotton swabs and my makeup is usually completely gone after this second step. This wipe is a great first step in your makeup removal routine, but I wouldn't say it completely removes **ALL** of your makeup, so I'm deducting a star. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone who wants an overpriced alternative to the original MUE and wants to stop creating unnecessary garbage in the environment. It does what it says on the tin (for the most part - see paragraph above) and I'll probably reorder when it's completely gone!
