Good pack gets my approval I have used this pack as a work pack almost every day for the past year. I do maintenance and light construction work in the Mojave Desert. My packs get pretty abused. I also walk a bit, several kilometers a day. First, the insulated section of the backpack works great and meets my needs. I pack my bag at 5am and unpack after 4pm. The average summer temperature in Mojave is 106 degrees Fahrenheit, and the maximum is between 110 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit, morning temperatures can hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and sometimes a backpack sits in a hot car for hours. Everything stays cold. I pre-chill everything the night before and use flat freezer bags. No problem, it's like a mini fridge. There is plenty of room in the backpack, I carry two 16oz thermos and one 16oz thermos in the top compartment. I carry about 8 flat freezer packs in the heat zone. , four to five bottles of water, a can of soda or two, lunch and snacks for morning and afternoon, and there is room in the non-thermal parts of the pack for other snacks. I also carry light gear and a journal in my backpack. Book, Allen key, mini binoculars and other accessories. My backpack falls off a tractor, gets thrown in the back of a pickup truck and is driven across the desert. After a year of use, the backpack was dirty and dirty, a zipper fell off. , the lining in the thermal bag has come loose, but the thermal properties are not affected. The zippers have become a bit sticky from dust and dirt. The backpack was still structurally correct, but I like to buy a new one every year and would buy this backpack again. It has a lot of space. Great backpack for work, day trips. This is not travel luggage but it meets my needs as a work backpack. In the years I've bought backpacks to work with an insulated compartment I haven't found one, including this one, that was airtight, maybe it would be if the inner lining wasn't separate and all kept everything cool. I am happy with this package.
