Save money on household batteries, chargers and accessories

I have a Moen motion sensor faucet that is powered by an AC adapter. If I lost the electricity, the faucet wouldn't work at all. Don't even turn it on and off manually. I could crawl under the sink, unplug the AC adapter, and then plug in the battery. Not an ideal solution. Power outages are rare and usually short-lived. Despite this shortcoming, I like the faucet. I wrote to Moen to ask about something I could buy that would allow me to connect both the AC power and the battery so that if there was a power outage it would automatically switch to the battery. I received a reply but the item is around $95 (although it also has an AC adapter). I would be willing to pay 25€. Search Moen 169031 in Revain to see the item. I wanted to build a simple relay and cap circuit but I stumbled upon this little gem. Please note that it is somewhat similar to the Moen kit, similar LED lights, but the Moen product has a nice cover. He did exactly what I wanted to do and did it professionally. I can give the details to anyone who asks but I plugged it in under my sink and my faucet runs on AC and if it ever fails it automatically switches to battery backup. Works pretty well. The total cost for this project, since I had to buy an extra AC-to-DC adapter (I didn't actually have to buy one, but it was so cheap I bought it to have an extra one), was $17.
