I have been using Totes umbrellas for over 40 years. They're always well made, come with a solid guarantee. The umbrella opens instantly with a simple button and closes securely with a single latch. The umbrella is coated with NeverWet, a type of chemical compound that makes rain bead up instantly - the fabric of the umbrella doesn't absorb rain at all. The colors are very strong and the screen looks great. On my only outing in New York last week, two people commented on "good umbrella". The umbrella is big enough to fit two people under it. The handle is covered with rubber and is comfortable to hold. It has 24 ribs inside, which makes it a little heavier than a lighter weight umbrella, but ensures that it resists the wind well. Sewing the umbrella to the knitting needles is reliable. Note: This is made in China. All in all, this is a great umbrella for regular use. There are no wind deflectors (this is not a dome structure, but a solid one), so in strong winds this is most likely not the best choice.
