At first I wasn't sure about buying a metal frame bed for my 5 year old son but after comparing the prices of different styles of bunk beds I finally gave up and bought the firehouse . Bunk bed with red slide. Came in a long heavy box and a separate small drawer for curtains. It took me a while to assemble it, but I ended up assembling it myself. Very easy to follow instructions and proved to be very durable. I decided to buy some red pool noodles from the dollar store, cut a slit in them and put them on the front and side rails to hide the sharp corners and prevent accidents. The pool noodles fit snug and snug and help keep the fabric covers in place. I bought a double mattress and a red bedspread top and bottom but my son prefers to sleep upstairs. I ended up putting the fireman's curtain at the back instead of the front. I also like that the bed is low instead of high. All in all, a great price and a great buy!
