I love this 96W USB-C USB-C power adapter and USB-C charging cable. I typically use my 2018 15" MacBook Pro with Dock and 24" monitor on my desk when designing, and then on my lap when I don't need a large monitor. I use a magnetic USB-C adapter to avoid constantly plugging and unplugging (read wear) my USB-C ports. My standard Apple charger is plugged into my dock, so it charges when I'm using my desktop, but I don't have many jobs that require a desktop configuration, which means I don't have the option of using my laptop in the charging the living room. The USB-C Port96W has largely solved this problem. The charging times seem to be similar to Apple's and I can comfortably charge my MacBook no matter where I am. To avoid the constant plugging/unplugging issue, I bought another magnetic adapter and connected a USB-C charging cable to it. Now when I need to charge on my lap, I just grab the cable and it attaches magnetically to the same adapter I use in my desktop setup. Thanks to the variable charging option, I can also connect my iPhone or iPad if required. I love it and haven't noticed any heat issues.
