I've had it for a week now and the lavender scent is extremely strong in the box and when you take it out. But that's far from lost in the toilet. You have to lean towards the toilet to smell it and I'm not sure if it mixes with water and smells like that, or if you just smell the hanger coming out of the water. Now over the waterline and down it. seems to help keep it clean, but since the water goes in and straight into the bowl, anything outside of the water doesn't get clean. There are also small orange and purple lines from which the water flows over the hanger. I don't think these are permanent stains, but it's odd that the cleaner leaves streaks. Overall I would say they are adequate air fresheners for your toilet but offer little to make washing and cleaning your bowl any easier.
