I love it when the open market offers easy, cheap homemade repairs that get screwed up by the world's highest paid engineers (and the dealership charges a fortune for the repair). I never understood why these automakers could spend millions to bring a product to market and overlook the simplest of things. I think it's about cutting costs. Either way, this is a quick and easy fix. How-to videos can be found all over YouTube. If you're good at soldering, you can fix this in about an hour. Twenty minutes if you've already removed the dashboard and know what you're doing.
