Review on πŸš— Volkswagen Compatible Roof Antenna Base Gasket by AntennaMastsRus by Terry Gernes

Inexpensive Easy Fix

After weeks of excuses the VW dealer finally admitted that this part could not be ordered through VW suppliers and that the entire antenna assembly had to be purchased for around $90. I can only imagine how much they charge for the job. So instead I bought this inexpensive part through Revain and followed their recommendations of soaking it in hot water and using a sealant or lubricant. While submerged in hot water, he attempted to clean the base of the antenna (which was still on the car's roof) with a clothes brush and clumsily managed to scratch the paintwork!. I then used a cheap silicone gasket under where the base gasket/sleeve would be and while it was still wet I moved the base gasket/sleeve along the antenna. It was surprisingly easy to achieve a near-perfect fit for my 2007 VW Rabbit.
