I do intermittent fasting but only drink coffee with cream. This means that I have to make my own coffee in the morning and take it with me to work. I don't drink it for a good 4 hours after brewing and my old travel mug just didn't work - by the time I break my fast the coffee is COLD. Tea is hot for more than an hour and a half. I burned my tongue for seriously underestimating how hot the drink was going to be after all this time. Then my tea stayed at that ideal hot temperature that you can drink it properly for about 2 more hours. I also like that the rim of the mug is not sharp so you can drink from it without the lid. You might just be underestimating how cold the rim of the mug gets, as the outer wall is not heated at all by the hot drink inside. Without the lid, the coffee stays hot for about 45 minutes - much longer than in ceramic mugs. The mug is nice and light so you don't feel like you're carrying a heavy mug around. that it doesn't fit in my car's cup holders. Luckily it's airtight so I can close it and toss it in the passenger seat. Great investment - would buy again.
