The lever you lower to attach the bins is just a spring loaded mechanism that is difficult to lower and lock in its final position so an adult will probably need it around helping little kids but even worse when you press the button to raise the bins they catapult the bins with great force over the truck and across the room, into the wall or into other kids and pets. Imagine a real garbage truck picking up trash cans every week and throwing them out the front windows of houses across the street. Lol My triplets love stuffing small toys in the top bin (where the bin should be raised if it's working properly) and then opening the back, pulling out the toys and repeating. So it's not quite that bad, but it certainly doesn't work the way you might expect.
