My waist is 32 to 32.5 so I figured I could get away with a medium size based on their size chart. Judging by my photos, I was cramped. It squeezes my stomach so much that I bulge slightly, and I personally can't stand tight clothes. I reordered in large and it is very comfortable. The fact that the size chart says the size Large is for a 32.5-34.5 waist made me think it was too big for me, but not at all - it still sits securely on my waist and feels durable - simply comfortable. I plan to use these pants for light summer hikes and I'm not afraid of them getting loose. You are fashionable enough to wear them. I'm 5ft 3" and 137lbs, the photos were taken a week apart so I haven't gained or lost it's just my pant size. I find the pants generally of good quality for the purpose I bought them for.
