In general, the hangers are nice for this price. They change the look of my closet and are much stronger than plastic hangers. I have placed a total of 5 orders and so far only found about 15 defective hangers. Imperfections range from rough or completely removed polishing that leaves rough wood, to splinters on the edges and grooves, to small bumps on the trouser hem. I don't think these imperfections are due to packaging and shipping because while they seemed minimal, I believe they actually protected the hangers pretty well. My husband helped me sand down some of the imperfections and splinters and while it's disappointing because it had to be done during production, he smoothed out the wood and I haven't had any incidents with my clothes yet. Only 15% of the hangers I order have defects, I think that deserves a 4 star rating. I can wholeheartedly recommend these hangers. My husband, who initially didn't agree to the exchange of our hangers, now wants them for his closet as he has seen them in person and can tell how much better they go with our dresses, jackets and suits. I should also note that they take up a lot more space than plastic hangers; I calculated that 1 wooden hanger needs about 2-3 plastic hangers. I am happy with my purchases and plan to do more.
