Review on 🚿 Enhanced Shower Experience: Filtered Shower Head for Chlorine Reduction, Dissolved Solids Removal, and Increased Water Pressure by Veronica Gonzales

Feels great but too much water, soaking in the shower spray

Finding a new shower head and filtration system has been an overwhelming task for me lately. After reading that chlorine could be to blame for my skin issues, I decided to find a new shower kit to see if that was the case. I bought two in-line filters but unfortunately when I connected them in series they lengthened the shower head so much that I could no longer stand under it. So I was looking for a flat shower head with a filter all in one. This one from Barclays is great but I haven't tested it long enough to see if it removes chlorine because it leaks so much water I was only able to shower twice and then had to return it. Of course, there were much more pluses than minuses, but the minus was so serious that it had to be returned. Pros: Super good stream, feels great; felt well made, screwed on and off easily, and the case felt relatively solid, although the threads on the case appeared to be loose, the filters/media fitted the case snugly. Cons: Too much water comes out. Thing is it now has a flow restriction and filled my tub within 30 seconds as the drain was completely overloaded. My previous shower head made a strong flow with lots of flow, but this one was basically like filling a bathtub. . I tried a few times to see if I could cut down on the shower time or manage to fill the tub but it was too much. I can handle the water around my feet but 3 minutes up to my ankles was too much. I've considered buying a flow restrictor as some others have mentioned, but I try to limit the length of the faucets as I'm tall enough that the shower heads enter my head with every length added. Also, I would rather have the shower head I get to solve this problem rather than having to deal with the shower head issue. Anyway, if your drain (and wallet) can handle Niagara Falls every time you shower, this could be a great buy. otherwise think of something else. I'm buying a Speakman S-4200 and have high hopes for it, will check if it's better. It obviously doesn't have a built-in filter, but we'll see if the built-in vitamin C filter works with Speakman.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
