Yes, you can get them almost for free. or at least a lot cheaper. You can take them from almost any pill jar and they're essentially the same thing. However, moisture eaters change color to indicate they are full of moisture and you can replace them with another one. They're a bit pricey, but they do the job and you don't have to worry about a thing. They have visual aids to tell you if there is a problem. I prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to underwater camera gear, so it's well worth the extra effort on each dive. It's like cheap insurance! I will always use these!
