I mainly use these clips to attach an umbrella to my monopod when I'm shooting in the rain. It's a well-made clamp that clamps things down, I'm not sure what else to say about that. I bought a Manfrotto Super Clip and a cheaper copy from Limo Studios to see if there was a significant difference. The short answer is no, not really. You can stop reading here if you are impatient. That being said, the Manfrotto seems to have a better fit and finish. For example, both come with a small rubber triangle that fits into the jaws when you clamp it on a flat surface like a table. The Manfrotto piece fits snugly in the clip both when you use it and when you don't, it's well molded from good material. Limo Studios one. It's good that one is gone, it fell off somewhere because it never fitted properly, it was deformed from the start. Similar to the brass book stand, the Manfrotto stand is well made, fits snugly in place and has no jagged or sharp edges. I would have complete confidence in the Manfrotto product for storing my expensive studio gear. The sedan's stance is sharp enough to cut an artery, capable of handling tons of dirt, but contracts well enough. If I put an expensive strobe head on it, I probably wouldn't. The Manfrotto's clamp-tightening handle is long enough to get the job done, but not so long that it gets in the way when using in tight spaces. The sedan's handle is too long and seems to touch everything. Bottom line, if I was going to use it in the studio to store lights, modifiers, and backgrounds, I would choose Manfrotto Clips. If all you need to do is hold your umbrella on the monopod, get the soda clips, they're good enough.
